It's about following a rule that the rest of the league agreed on. It's about not thinking you have some superior status that allows you to disregard rules you don't agree with.

Where was the protest when I asked about the exploit? Silence.

Where were you when I specifically asked if there was a roster based solution to the exploit other than setting a rule? Silence

You purposefully used the exploit, after knowing nobody else was following it (because of the rule)... then tried to say the rule was stupid when you got caught.
