1.21 -- CB Christopher Martinez +6/+1 2.21 -- C Kevin McGhee +8/+2 3.21 -- RG Tim Matson +2/-9 (oops) 4.21 -- SS Joseph Sherman +14/+7 5.21 -- RDE Joseph Dalton +11/0 6.21 -- C Joseph Funk +10/+2 7.21 -- WR Peter Queener +4/-9 (no future all-name team hopes here...)
Overall not bad...will probably end up eating most/all of the Round 3 contract, but the gain on the SS more than makes up for it.
Pretty good! I took some big swings and hit on most of them, for once!
2.31 RB Juan Hiner Vol: 74 +7/+2 Now 50/77
Now more important because the incumbents aged badly all at once. He's a lousy blocker, but that will matter less because he won't block very much.
3.27 C Abraham Fowler Vol: 84 +1/-3 Now 52/77
Hicks it is, then. Sigh.
3.31 FS Gary Grant Vol: 26 +5/-2 Now 45/59
He's a one trick pony, but it's a nice trick. Will his lack of versatility hurt me too badly?
4.31 RDE Herbert Reece Vol: 18 +4/0 Now 41/69
Necessary because the incumbents are very old. He's probably just depth, but it will be OK as long as I don't ask for too much.
5.31 LG Michael Rios Vol: 70 +9/+2 Now 51/79
I had considered him for the previous pick, but I went with need instead. Lucky for me he was still around. Pass blocking will always be a problem for him, but he'll have no problem being a snowplow.
6.31 RG Stephen West Vol: 40 +4/-2 Now 39/65
I had drafted him as a bookend for Rios. Needless to say, it didn't work out.
7.31 SLB Eugene Marsh Vol: 86 +2/-5 Now 29/40
Spectacularly missed his chance to be anything other than training camp fodder.
Big dog in da house, yo! QB of the D set for the long haul. Expecting future to rise would just have been **** greedy.
1.31 Timothy Reed RT vol 54 +16/+4
Nice unexpected BOOM from this guy. Should be a stud across the O line - yet to decide precisely where to play him but almost certainly a flip to LT is in his future.
2.3 Shaun Debusk TE vol 44 +12/+2
Blocks, runs, catches. This guy has it all and seems a steal in 2nd round...
3.2 Angel Harned FS vol 26 +4/-2
First of third round minor disappointments... Quick and can tackle, so... if he ends up average Zone and pass rush then I can ive with that and work around his weaknesses - once I learn to gameplan...
3.11 Bradley Barron RDE vol 6 +3/-1
Disappointing drop but his tackling is decent enough, pass rush average so should have a roster spot even if the decline continues - may well convert to LDE.
4.12 James Winston LG vol 36 +3/0
Switching to RG, seems steady enough for now.
5.3 Stephen Vazquez RB vol 22 +6/+1
Converted full back, aiming to provide depth at RB. He'll get chances in pre-season, looks a thumper.
6.2 Gary Crouse DT vol 12 +6/0
The thing about having a **** D is a 6th rounder will become your starting DT... he's ok but should drop down to a squad player over time.
7.1 Kristopher Russell WR vol 58 +3/+2
A 7th rounder that may stay on the roster is good. A 7th rounder who can run his routes, isn't a slouch, can catch the **** ball is ****, **** good and almost certainly the pick of the whole draft - the slow burn progression could even mean a 2nd rounder fell to 7th...

Overall thoughts.
Drafting 1st means generally a crappish squad of players, ANYONE is an improvement on what is already there but to draft 9 starters is good, even if caveating that by pointing out a number will cycle down to depth over time. To draft a potential #2/#3 receiver in the 7th tho.. gravy. And by gravy, I mean real gravy not the crappy American version.
