AI cap problems

I've just been made aware that we have an issue with the AI teams.

It seems all but one are WAY over the salary cap ($10M+). This could really have an unreal, and unfair, effect on the league.

Just so nobody things I'm trying anything "funny", I want to spell out what I'm doing.

I'm going to attempt to take control of each team, and make some logical changes. Renegotiations, cuts, etc.

I don't know if it will work, but I have to give it a shot before the games start.

One request... Please don't take Portsmouth while I'm moving around. I'll be forced to boot you from my team... lol

OK all.

I can't guarantee it will work for every team. Much of what I did will depend on players restructuring their contracts. If they don't accept the offers, the team may still end up cutting their most expensive contracts.

I believe what I did should keep a little bit of a handle on the anarchy, anyway.

Everyone should be expecting a bunch of players released during the Late FA period, (to be available between LFA2 and training camp, then some top players will most likely still be released during preseason game 1.

To be fair, since I had a hand in releasing these players, I will not put in any NEW bids until after preseason game 1. (Emphasis on "new", as I have one current bid out. The proof that the player I'm after was available beforehand can be found in his history, but I'm not about to give his name now.) I believe it will still be fair for me to bid on any players still available after preseason game 1, as everyone will have had the chance at the players I released, and I have no control over the salary cap cuts.

SO... Work on getting some cap room folks. It may mean the difference between championships and early draft picks. Good luck all.

One more bit of info... I had to spend 5 credits each time I switched teams... But you guys are worth it. I just hope it works, and at least avoids complete pandemonium.

Looks like 4-5 AI teams are still over the cap.

I'm not going to go in again, as it costs me credits, and it looks like the players didn't accept the renegotiations.

That means about 7-10 high end players (by my estimate) will be released before the first preseason game.

I guess it's still better than 20-30, as it would have been before.

As long as everyone is aware it's going to happen, (or at least everyone who reads the forums), I don't see where it will be that bad. Hopefully the AI teams won't be so wrecked that any perspective owners will be turned away.

Good job Bill Stein. Keeping the competitive balance of the league by managing the A.I. rosters is an excellent move for the longterm success of this league.

An active league admin that takes control of his league is what seperates leagues for future potential owners chosing new teams to take over. Ive been a long time promoter of this game needing more active league admins so I am happy to add you to that list.

I have 4 full leagues (well almost...3 openings total) and I invite you to post in any of my league forums to recruit owners.
