Re: AFL Code of Conduct & Club Rules

This is YOUR league and its up to each and everyone of us to keep it fair , fun but competitive.

- First off I'd like to draw attention to JDBs original post.
https://tri-state-league.myfootballnow.com/community/1/2991?page=1#20025
==================================================================================

Seasonal League Format:
- 2 Days of Late Free Agency
- 4 Pre-Season Games.
- 16 Regular Season Games.
- Regular Play-Off Format.
- 4 Days Early Free Agency

RULES

- Punt Blocks: Can take place but not as an exploit, eg; a player out of position. Punt blocks can only be done by LBs or DL and that MUST be their primary position, so no changing their position back and forth.
&
- Out of Position Players: Players from Offense must only play on Offense, as should Defense players should only play on Defense.

I think this is pretty fair.............

This is a copy paste from a thread I started in the Group of Five league.

I first became aware of this advantage by keeping an eye on "Beta Chat" in MFN 1. Apparently we have the age of the two-way player coming back in MFN, lol.

The "exploit" is using a very fast WR1 or 2, and also putting him at CB3, 4, or 5. Example, Kent States (6-0) WR Nutting (Ai default rating 94), leads league in receiving by far, He is the WR2 and CB3, leading his team in interceptions with 4, which is the second most in the league behind 2 full time DBs who both have 5. Nutting also has one returned for a TD, which was mentioned in the thread in Beta Chat, where there is a higher % of pick sixes by WRs in the CB position. Here is the link to the thread on the subject : https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/forums/6/1966?page=2#11524

Whether you like this or dont, or dont care either way, the fact is, until JDB figures how to correct it, it is a game advantage and not really a simulation of the current RL pro game. There is quite a bit of discussion in the forums regarding players playing "out of position". My purpose in posting this here is to let those who take the time to check and read this leagues forum, are aware of the exploit and can decide whether or not they want to use it also, to level the playing field. Again, you may not like it, but if you're going to compete against a very strong team that is using it, you will need to use it also and/or at least be aware of it so when you get beat by a large margin you'll know one of the reasons why.

It is pretty easy to spot if someone is using this exploit, League Player Stats, Defense, Interceptions ..... and we have one so far in the DFL. My own opinion is that I dont like it, for the same reasons that other exploits are not liked. As commissioner, I will issue a warning if I see it being used and if the warning is not heeded, then the owner will be cut. If anyone has a problem with this, or does not agree, now is the time to post your opinion. No hard feelings one way or the other, and if several would prefer to let this exploit go and play with it, so be it.

- Trades: The trade meter will be set to 'off ', which means any trade can be made, (disregard the meter). However, all trades are subject to scrutiny and may be reversed if deemed too one sided or exploitative.

These committee members have the right to question a trade and/or bring it to the attention of the league should it be deemed questionable.

1 - wolfie
2 - TarquinTheDark
3 - slowtospeak
4 -

- Depth Chart: - Depth Charts must be set going into game 1 of the regular season, this includes having a Kicker and Punter in their respectful positions.

(As this league progresses, other rules may come in or get taken out. All decisions will be run past League members)

For clarification purposes, if a player is rated by the game for Offense and Defensive positions, does the owner have to choose one side of the ball?

It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

From my Moguls team. 88 speed/89 fumble avoid. I'm thinking he's an emergency RB in that league.

Its a really good question and a great example. Every now and again a player comes along with hybrid skills and in this case this seems to be the case, but I would still call him a D player with good ball skills.
To answer your question, yes all O players play O and D players play D, after having a few examples of confusion, its just a whole lot easier that way. However if you wanted to use him at HB, then just convert him.

I figured that was the call, just wanted to preempt future challenges. ;)

Trading 101

For the moment the trade meter is now back on as there are some really unbalanced trades going through and if it involves draft picks for the current draft I have now way to void it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

So I was reading a post about RB Rotation on the main board......I'm assuming it's not okay to have a DB try out WR/RB in this league ? If the game allows it, it is fair for all ?

I've never started a D player on O......but would love to sit a CB at RB4 for giggles. If it's not allowed, then obviously I won't.
