At the 12 game mark....

1. Robert Nelson, RDE, Breakers, 19sacks/18 hurries.

The Ai default rating wins on Nelson (85), my weights have him at 59!! due to his 53 speed and strength. Looks like the 100 ratings in pass rush, run def, tackle, disc, and strip make up for it. Ive noticed that a lot of older vets, 10 yr+, have been in the top ten for DL/sacks, Nelson is in his 10th year.

2. Joe Williams, RDE, Bandits, 18 sacks/19 hurries, another case where the Ai rating is better than mine, and he is an 11 yr vet.

3. Dennis Victorino, RDE, Sioux, 17 sacks/11 hurries, 3 yr vet, 2nd round pick.

4. Aaron Weeks, RDE, Voodoo, 17 sacks/12 hurries, 4 yr vet, 3.14 pick.

5. Roy Vela, RDE, Bulldogs, 16 sacks/19 hurries, 4 yr vet, 3.9 pick. My weights worked for him, but not much different from the Ai default value, mine is 86, ai/82.

RDE's have 12 out of the top 20, one DT (Elliot, Bandits), 6 out of the top 7 are RDEs. None of them were first round picks. Lowest Ai rated/value DL in top 20 is Torrez, Bulldogs, with an Ai default rating of 57, who was surprisingly a 3.2 pick by Boise and did not make the roster, he was picked up by the Redwoods and cut after 4 seasons, picked up right away by Canton and has more sacks this season (11) than his previous four seasons combined (7).

Other than for entertainment and laughs, is this info of any importance? To me it is, especially when it comes to evaluating DL and whether or not to use high first round draft pick on one, or in a trade or early FA bidding.

The Regular Season has ended and Robert Nelson stayed #1 in sacks, with an outstanding total of 28!

Next was Joe Williams, who finished with 24, who was also in 2nd at the 12 game mark.

Victorino held his #3 spot, with 23 sacks, and Mike Bowlin of the Mean Machine jumped up to #4 also with 23.

Vela held on to his #5 (21) and was followed by Canton teamate, Torrez (18) for the top two tandem sackers for a team.
