We will be adding more new owners and hopefully will fill up the league in the next couple of days. I will put the FA period on hold until we get everyone in or close to it. That will give the new owners time to review their teams and figure out their priorities for roster changes and additions.

PLEASE... refrain from "coach poaching" until after the draft, as that will give the new owners time enough to offer contracts to their existing coaches if they want to keep them. Also, its not cool to coach poach from an AI team before it gets a new owner. We want a good, fair, and competitive league as much as possible. All the new owners are by invitation, some you know and have been in leagues with. If there is someone that you would like to have join our league, send them a PM and let them know. cheers! gdb

If you are wondering about the season years, starting with 1940, I wasnt in the league at the start but am assuming that the intent was to have a "nostalgia" type league that was based on the style of football at the time. That was mostly T formation, run the ball most of the time, pass 15-20 times a game with only 2 WR at the most. Two way starters, no specialists like P or K. While the nostalgia league sounds like a good idea, I think it would be difficult to implement it, let alone police it so that everyone is doing what they say they are going to do. My experience with other games adding rules outside of the game itself, is that it would create more controversy. I would play in nostalgia league, so long as the league was created that way, and everyone agreed before they join. And there was a solid way to enforce the additional rules. So if we were voting I would have to say just play the regular game, and let me know if you create a nostalgia league.

No worries Tim, this started off as a "nostalgia" type league, looked like they were not using specialist P & K, not sure. We will not be adding rules outside of the game for this league, it will run the same as the EFL does. I have pm'd JDB about the idea of a league that is styled after pro football in the 30s & 40s, and he stated that he had it on his "list" but not a high priority at this time. He said there might be some league edits & modifications that could be done for a league like that, but I agree that it would have to be done before a league is underway, unless the majority of owners wanted to change up. cheers, gdb

Will you be enforcing the 'no poaching' of coaches because one of my first moves was going to be to improve on my 81 rated head coach?

Not everyone is going to read it but since I did I'll roll with what I have.

I think the fair way to play it is to hold off on Coach Poaching until after the next sim. I will be watching the sim transactions to see if that holds up. And I will send pms about it before the next sim runs for the FA period. No one should lose a 82 or better coach because they didnt know or were unaware. cheers!
