This is an excellent article that provides a great overview on the development of the pro football game, and identifies the first player who was payed to play in a football game. Do you know who that is? I would not have guessed, and I have read a lot of the history of football, but that was a lot of years ago, when I was in Jr HS and fell in love with the game. Do you know what many consider the "greatest game ever played"? It was the one that many consider to have put football ahead of baseball as the country's favorite sport.
