Revel in it but it's straight up cheeseball. If you take any satisfaction in a victory obtained that way, which has zero to do with strategy or good GM sportsmanship, then you've been leeched onto Setherick and Beta for way too long. :)

The same code that got you a punt block got you seven interceptions in two games. You have to take the good with the bad.

It's probably just me, but I'll take as many turnovers as I can... It's pretty easy to stop a punt block, just block the guy blocking the punt. It's the code, sure, but it's football too. Anybody paying attention can stop a punt block...

Eh, it's beyond that. The issue is the person with inside knowledge (you being one, obviously) leaning on it to create various turnovers, producing 1-2 touchdowns a game off of it and winning basely solely on learning a trick deep within the Bowels of Beta.

I was there the first time this hit the mainstream and that I could attribute to a poor punt timing punter, however, my punter in another league is 96 punt timing and I've over-ridden since the beginning of time in the punt drop bar menu so I know what I'm doing.

In any event, someone on the inside figured out this trick and here we are.

There's no 'inside knowledge'... I had a punt blocked and said 'gee eyeballll, how did THAT happen' and I researched it and figured it out. I'm not part of some MFN Illuminati that is pulling strings behind the scenes... I wish! No, just a regular guy trying to have fun and win a few games...

Ok, fair enough. :)

My exposure to it was watching a team block a punt 8 times! in a Conference Championship Game and then prepare for the Title Game to a) defend myself from it ) fight fire with fire.

Point I was making is that a Respect Match, GM for GM battle in a deep playoff game shouldn't come down to getting your punt blocked 8 times. That takes into account no strategy, zero. Just that you can sneak in with your players and get at the punter over and over.

I'm using 'your' in a general sense here. :)

8 TIMES! Yaaaah, that's a little extreme... hahahhahhah!!

Full disclosure: I did block 5 punts once and won a game I had no business winning. I felt TERRIBLE about it, and apologized to the owner for it. But I still do actively try to block punts... I think I must be a bad person, or at least worse than I thought...

But, yeah, that's how I look at is. It's not so much the regular season game. It's the putting in the effort all season long, tons of scouting work and the initial season set-up. You're in the title game and come title games that's where you generally have the best game planners so you're going to face the best strategies.

Hypothetically, you put out the superior game plan....beat 'em in every facet and should have the title but the punt block zaps you over and over.

Then the person hits the board and tells you all about it.

Which kind of what happened to Crazy Razor (the punt blocking and chirpy part) and could have happened to me.

I learned it from Crazy, so I guess the best revenge is to take it out on somebody else. You boatraced me other than that, though.

...and here I am sympathizing for him as a victim!

LOL

Carry on but, yeah, it's making the rounds then. :)

What, only a safety? I'd have scored a touchdown there, amateur...

Umm, I mean, this has to stop!
