GG Maulers. I just couldn't quite overcome the big deficit.

Good luck going forward.

Congrats vcr/Tampa on an outstanding season!

I'll be stepping aside as GM for the Red Woods because of life, but glad we got to go one more round in this multi-world battle we've had -- it has been fun both with the Red Woods and in the old Yellowknife-Albuquerque days. Best of luck. to you!!

[P.S.-Gus, tried to make the team as stable as I could with contracts going into the new season and draft...should be in good shape if someone follows (they'll just need to sign an RB in free agency...unless AI does a late resign on Boyce)]

Congrats on a great season RedNU. While I was happy to win the game, it does stink to know you are leaving the league (I hope temporarily.) You've always been a fun and challenging opponent across the multi-verse. Although I get it with real life getting in the way - I need to cut way back, I've phoned in a couple of recent drafts, and not watching games as much.

As for the game, I thought Tampa was in trouble with that first fumble. The first half of the 1st quarter was all Redwoods. I think I maybe swore at your DE Solano on more than one occasion - he shut down that side of the line and killed some potential big gainers. Although, I might have swore more at your QB - so many times he was pressured and threw a completion. He must have been as cool as a cucumber to not throw any picks until very late.

Also, congrats to all the playoff teams - there are a lot of good ones. Also good luck in the off-season to those building a future playoff team. The Bandits will have some challenges next season as their contract negotiations with all pro RB Genova is at an impasse, and he will test free agency next season. The Bandits will have to replace the back2back 2K yard rusher.

I was feeling pretty good at 10-0, but the running game that I was concerned about was too much to stop. I was waiting for that late fourth quarter lightning bolt though that seems to have defined so many of our games, but alas the late INT denied that bit of drama. We definitely developed a turnover problem over the back half of the season, though I'm hard pressed to see anything ratings-wise or strategy wise on my part that answers why it occurred.

Well vcr, that was def a tale of 2 very different halfs. The 2nd half sim/rolls were real cruel to Harmon, 5 picks for a QB that had only thrown 7 total in the previous 8 games is not a very likely thing to happen.. The Redwood offense did a good job of converting the TO's into points, but after a first half with zero TO's, I was expecting our usual back & forth to the finish. We get to do it again in 4 games, I'd bet the farm the result will be a lot different.

wow - that was a total breakdown in the 2nd half. In the 3rd & 4th quarter, Boise's QB went 6 of 18 for 55 yards ... and 5 ints. Boise had 6 turnovers in the 2nd half, and California put up 30 points with them. Talk about examples of futility and efficiency.

Boise was a paper tiger coming in this game, and I knew it would be a couple off-seasons to get them on track - but I didn't think they would look like 1976 Tampa Bay Bucs bad.

Lol - I think California hit "play familiarity" with your installed offense right at the end of the 2nd quarter. They looked like a buzzsaw from that point on.
