Dayton, OH — The Triangles extended their winning streak to seven games with a 21-8 road win against the Scorpions on December 15 at the Scorpions' home turf. Both teams had clinched their respective divisions entering Week 15, but the Triangles' undefeated 6-0 division record under Coach Eric Helmick was further solidified with this victory.

The game opened with multiple punts from both teams, setting a field position battle early on without scoring in the first quarter. Triangles kicker Donald Preusser put his team on the board first in the second quarter with a 33-yard field goal, giving them an early edge at 3-0. The Scorpions struggled to generate offensive momentum, producing no points in the first half.

Triangles quarterback Peter Hoyt moved the offense efficiently, completing 31 of 45 passes for 323 yards and one touchdown. He found receiver Ronald Warrior for a two-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter, although the team's extra point attempt from Preusser missed, leaving the score at 9-0.

The Scorpions' Robert Chandler responded with a 198-yard passing game and a touchdown to Anthony Liberatore, who also rushed for a touchdown and totaled 125 receiving yards. However, Scorpions' offense was hampered by turnovers, including an interception of Chandler by Kevin Campbell early in the second quarter and a fumble by Triangles returner Aaron Pugh in the fourth quarter.

Triangles added to their lead in the third quarter with Preusser slotting a 37-yard field goal and running back Carl Young capping a drive with a one-yard touchdown run. Young finished with 94 rushing yards, 11 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown, contributing significantly to the Triangles' ground and air attack.

On special teams, punter Mike Copeland was notable for multiple effective punts, frequently pinning the Scorpions deep in their territory. The defensive side for the Triangles recorded one sack and a fumble recovery, helping maintain pressure on the Scorpions’ offense throughout the game.

The Scorpions' defense managed four sacks and forced one fumble but could not counterbalance their offensive struggles. Their inability to convert third downs or capitalize in the red zone—no red zone visits were recorded—was key to their limited scoring.

Penalty counts were similar for both teams, with four infractions apiece; the Scorpions accumulated 31 penalty yards while the Triangles had 27.

This win places the Triangles at 13-2 overall and maintains their perfect division record, while the Scorpions fall to 12-4 heading into the final week of the regular season. The Triangles will look to close out the season strong as they prepare for the playoffs.
