I've sent a PM to Ice, asking what happened. Looking at it, I think he fell victim to the AI autocuts, somehow forgetting to drop a player after winning the waiver wire player.
As I said, my position has always been to avoid rollbacks. At this point, it seems Icecold has only hurt his own team. Being at 31 on the power rankings, maybe he has a chance to get some of them back. If anything appears shady later, it can be revisited.
That said, bid away... Hopefully the lower ranked teams log in and notice.
Just so everyone knows, I've heard from Icecold, and he verified it was a mistake. I'm satisfied with his reply. He will now have a harder time rebuilding his team, so please offer assistance where you can (within the rules).

Ouch. The system failed him there. I'd think it would be better for the sim engine to drop one player to fix the cap than to just riddle his roster by going on a releasing frenzy.
Hmm, or an additional screen added in by JDB. "If you're successful in winning this player, who are you cutting to clear the space?" But that's tricky with multiple offers thrown out....

I personally don't like the way the system does it, but obviously nobody's cone up with a better way, and it's in the rules. On the other side, it's in the rules. If you play the game, it's up to you to know how it works. As an admin, I feel I have to let the sims continue, unless someone purposefully breaks rules. As a person, I hope we can help Ice a little in the next few seasons, especially those who benefitted.
