Its not anywhere near as much fun to be in a league with too many open teams, if any. If a few or more of us send out 5-10 PM invitations, we should be able to get the league filled up pretty quickly. Just copy/paste the message below and send it. You can edit/personalize it. Only takes a couple of minutes to send a few out. See how many out of 8 open teams you can get. cheers! GdB

Hello! You're invited to join the American Football League. If you want a new challenge, enjoy a league with non-NFL team names & logos, and/or are looking to improve your game, this is a real good choice compared to other leagues. You can get tips, advice, and "coaching" from several of the existing owners in the league that includes a full roster review with key suggested cuts & adds by GrandadB if you request it. We have an active and entertaining league forum. So take a look and see if there's a team that you would like to manage. Dont wait, pick the team you like the best before others do. Gustoon is the league admin and will help you out if needed. https://afl.myfootballnow.com/

Sent out a dozen "invites" ... Kababmaster, Tanner, jhartshorn, TexansFan, B$dog, MVRowner, greyghost, McBolt, ChicagoBears, woodyhaze, okonkwoko, Blondie, TwoThirds, and Phaldun.

So, cmon, help me out and send out some invites, the more we send out, the faster we can get those open teams filled up. "Cheez, cheez, cheez, cheez, !!!!! "

We should have a team named the Cheez-its.

Post who you invited on here so we can avoid duplicates. Go, go, go, Omaha!!!

To be honest, I haven't been active in this league at all and have been holding a team only because the league looked like it was close to folding.

I like very much what you do for the game Seth.....and I'm just asking from curiosity....are you putting a "stamp/interest" on any league(s) ?

Well, it has been tough recruiting new owners, my good friend Kabab is the only one that picked up a team out of about a dozen invitations.

One of the difficulties is that it is a very old league, and the open teams rosters have been badly mismanaged by the Ai, which is always a problem. Its not a lot of fun to have to deal with a low sal cap when taking over a team. Im used to doing it and I always offer a "roster review" with suggested cuts/adds for anyone who picks up a team in the league that they can use to compare with their own review.

So, am hoping we get at least half of the opens, 4 teams, picked up before the end of season. Otherwise, I will probably be dropping my team, dont like being in a league with more than 2 or 3 open teams, and watching rosters get screwed by the Ai. Please pitch in and send out a few invites to others, reach out to newer players, with less than 1 yr exp, and let them know that they will get some "coaching" if they pick up a team in this league. Merry Xmas all!

mwd65 is in charge of Private 75.

Back when we saved this league before, I made a deal with Private 75 to send them owners, if they did the same to AFL. I'm still there.

They are in pretty poor shape again with 14 open teams.

Perhaps a similar agreement could help both leagues again, (or even some type of merger)?

(Just an idea)
